Some spoilers for Hunter not covered in the video: (and some as well from spearmaster and arti) Starving before you do echo collection cycles helps a ton, it gives you a lot more wiggle room and a lot less wasted cycles to bad spawn RNG. Hunter saving moon and then ascending is possible while still visiting Pebbles (mandatory) and collecting required echoes. Hunter is an unsung hero, made even more heartbreaking that Moon barely remembers them after getting partial memories restored later on. I think that most fascinating thing about Hunter is how and why NSH purposed them in the way they did. It seems like the rot tumor on their back is probably how they hold an extra spear, but to trust such an important mission (NSH and Moon are pals in the same way SRS and 5P are....or once were) to a slugcat with a limited lifespan that infinite subjective cycles wouldnt see through to the end in order to save their friend is incredibly risky. You could speculate that the rot, besides spear storage, is also where Hunter gains their extra strength and agility from, but I think NSH was playing 4D Chess. We know from some of Spearmaster's pearls and broadcasts the local iterator group was pretty much aware 5P had the rot, and 5P is....unusually sympathetic and kind to Hunter compared to all the other slugcats (I still think Arti and 5P are the best match, they're both just angry and bitter and therefore perfect for eachother). NSH knew from broadcast conversations with SRS that 5P physically assaulted Spearmaster and blew up their Overseer. I think NSH knew that 5P would have more empathy for the inevitably doomed struggles of a purposed messenger organism like Hunter. Instead of hurting and shunning Hunter as 5P did with Spearmaster, he would actually be of assistance to them, especially calculated since 5P would also be the most knowledgeable in how to at least manage symptoms of Rot. We also know from some Spearmaster broadcasts that SRS got the ideas for a purposed slugcat from NSH, and Spearmaster's campaign was the first in the timeline, well before Moon's can collapsed. NSH was no novice at making purposed scugs, unlike SRS - who seemed like Spearmaster was their first, and possibly only, purposed scug. All in all, the name "No Significant Harassment" is like a poetic and beautiful form of reverse-irony. They come off like a joker and a bit of a troll, but theyre probably been the biggest help to our local 2 iterators through their dealings, saving Moon's life, and giving 5P a taste of humility and perspective no other scug had.... (Well, we still dont know who Rivulet crossed paths with, still a fun mystery to this day). Hunter and NSH get a big o7, They're true heroes in Rainworld's bittersweet story.

*Some spoilers for several scug campaigns:* I spent nearly 200 cycles as Spearmaster. Seeing Moon, then Pebbles to understand him, then collecting every colored pearl and broadcast I could. Befriending the scavs, feeding lizards spearmaster's seconds, really grinding out passages. His place on the timeline and involvement in the plot (even before the game starts, its not his first time seeing the local iterators, or 5p at least) is basically what allows the rest of original Rainworld to happen. He helps 5p learn how to first start the experiments, he saves moon from complete agony and perpetual decay by allowing NSH to get a report on moon's status (Thus starting Hunter's quest to deliver a slag reset key and reply message, and leads to cannon elements of monk's campaign), he is the first scug we know of to visit 5p, prior to arti, hunter, and gourmand. By the time gourmand has shown up in 5p's can, 5p realizes he cant stop them from wandering in, even with his facility in lockdown, and allows the path to outer expanse to be opened, hoping to direct the slugcats elsewhere. Spearmaster is the catalyst for almost all the events in rainworld, and as you listen to more broadcasts you realize SRS's science experiment was based off of work NSH had already been doing with purposed slugcat organisms, which means Hunter wasnt the only one NSH created, even at this extremely early point in the timeline. We also learn SRS ends up caring and worrying for Spearmaster quite a lot in the end, and is terrified their attempts to help their friend 5p will result in even more harm to SM (with SRS losing all idea of what happens after 5p destroys SRS's red overseer). Spearmaster is no arti, no rivulet, no bodyslamming void bomb crafting gourmand. He's just a lizard that doesnt need to really sleep or eat like a normal scug does, and can make spears, and backflip slightly better then most, yet arguably survives and thrives in the most hostile part of the timeline's ecosystems. His full story was the most emotional one for me in Downpour.

Crystal knight lore: He was a miner in Crystal peaks who also happened to dabble in swordplay. He one day took a nap on a bench, and slept so long, that he got covered in crystals. He was unphased by this and continued his slumber. He slept and slept, until he woke up one day. He was woken up by the loud sounds of the mines. He eventually tried to get some peace and quiet by going to the top of the mines. It was calm and silent. He could finally rest............ Until he got his foot caught on a blade of grass and tripped and through a sequence of unfortunate but comedic events he ended his tumble at King's pass. He then made it his goal to shut up this noisy world, and annihilate all grass in his path along the way.

So what was the deal with the wall of eggs?

Here's how I think chat would work as a rain world character: Acts as a companion that can be found and will follow you if fed bats. Lizards are passive towards it unless Chat attacks first. Gains stat boost after eating mushrooms. Helps when catching bats. Deals high damage to anything it hits with a spear but will occasionally try to hit you with a spear, but it can be trained not to by taking its spear repeatedly. Scavengers are not directly aggressive, but will raise their spears as a warning at first. Attacking a scavenger while chat is around will cause chat to attack said scavenger with all available resources. Chat won't directly attack scavengers, but will raise a rock towards them as a warning. Can hold breath under water for long time but can still drown. Incredibly fast in vents and tubes. Will bring random items to player, which can vary from rocks to foo d and ect. Harder for aggressive creatures to see. Naturally attracted to doing stupid things and must be stopped or they will perish. Unlocked as a playable character after beating the game with them as a companion.

I found two pups immediately at the start of my run. I have carried them to nearly the end of the game and found two more along the way. I am a single mother of four and it is agonizing.
